Hello Lovelies!
We are so excited to be celebrating our birthday week here on the blog! It’s been a great few days spending time with our families and friends. Are we the only ones that enjoy celebrating for at least a week? Life is short so why not extend the festivities, right?
We thought it would be fun to share a little bit about what it’s like to be a twin (aka share a birthday) and some funny memories from over the years. First of all, people always ask us if we like sharing a birthday. Yes, we think it’s fabulous! We are 6 minutes apart and no surprise that we have been the best of friends since we can remember. So to be able to share an important day like this as sisters is pretty special.
As kiddos it was always such a blast to have a giant party with all our friends from school and church. Even though we received a lot of joint presents, that was totally fine with us. Some of our very favorite memories are from the fun parties our mom would put together like the time we go to go ice skating, roller skating, go to glamour shots (oh yes, can’t forget those glam parties) and the list goes on.
Celebrating our sweet 16 and 21st birthdays were really special too. Fast forward a decade and we don’t have big parties anymore, but we always look forward to getting dressed up and having a night out with our close friends and family. To kick off the celebrations we thought it would be so fun to wear some girly chic outfits, go out for cupcakes and share with you all some of our favorite things!
1. Favorite color: As you may have guessed from our pictures, I love purple and Linds loves pink! We of course had to wear our favorite colors for a night out to celebrate.
Linds is wearing a full skirt from Express (currently sold out but similar option here) paired with a classic lace top. For cooler temps it would be perfect with a girly cardigan or tweed jacket added over the top. I’m wearing the most gorgeous dress from Eliza J that couldn’t be more perfect for a girl that loves purple. The sparkly jeweled neckline, full skirt and hidden pockets make this dress my all time favorite. I didn’t want to take it off! 2. Favorite Shoes: It probably goes without saying that we love heels! Some of our favorite brands are Vince Camuto, Sole Society, Nine West and Sam Edelman. Short heels and tall heels, bows and glitter – we love them all. In honor of our birthday week, we will be giving away a pair of shoes on Instagram so make sure to check out our posts the next few days!
3. Favorite Beauty Products: This is practically impossible to narrow down! Some of our fave items are listed here. We love a great neutral nail too (see this post for our tutorial). We can’t live without our Sultra curling wand. It’s our secret for curls that last! Mascara is probably our number one must have item. We have tested out sooooo many. Our recent fave is this one by Too Faced. Wow it is so great at volumizing without getting glumpy. It definitely gets a two thumbs up from us.
4. Favorite Jewelry Items: If you have followed us on Instagram for a while, you will know that we love anything from Kendra Scott and BaubleBar! Our jewelry collections are full of versatile items thanks to these two brands. For our birthday outfits, Linds is wearing this gorgeous opal necklace available here. 5. Favorite Splurge: We’d have to admit that our favorite brand to spend money on is Tory Burch. The quality and designs are some of our very favorite! From riding boots to logo flats, this brand can do no wrong! The Fleming bag is the most perfect small bag that still allows for versatility thanks to the strap that can be worn as a cross body or on the shoulder. Linds is wearing the pink version (currently sold out but several staple colors are available here) and I’m wearing the Robinson style that is similar. The Fleming bag just came out in the most gorgeous new shades for spring too! How pretty is this lilac shade?!?
