Happy Thursday! We are so excited to get the weekend started early with a Girls’ Night In with Kate Spade! As busy working moms, there’s nothing more we love than a girls night in once the weekend hits! Our calendars stay packed just like yours probably does, so any chance we can get for some relaxation in the comfort of our homes is priceless. This past week our husbands offered to take our little girls out for some fun so we could get some quality sister time in! We definitely won’t ever turn that offer down. Bring on the cupcakes, comfy pjs and girl talk!

Party time! We got out of heels and work clothes faster than you can say sprinkles and changed into these adorable new sleepwear pieces from Kate Spade. This so chic and affordable line just debuted and we have been so excited to see the pieces in person! Linds loves shirt dresses so this comfy black “eat cake for breakfast” dress was a must. I always love sleepwear separates so this dot capri set was perfect for me. The satin is soooo soft. Pretty sure I need some sheets made out of the same thing. 😉
So now for the rest of our girls night necessities! Yummy snacks, drinks, music and makeup are all a must! We are major makeup hoarders – but you can’t tell that as we have these adorable makeup bags to tote it around in. This large case holds soooo much and this smaller polka dot case is perfect for travel and slipping into your purse on the go. They would make perfect graduation and bridesmaids gifts too!
So the final necessity of girls night is – you guessed it, GIRL talk! We have no shortage of things to jabber about {as our husbands always remind us LOL}. Here’s a little bit of what you’d hear if you joined us for a night in:
1. Sales – We love a great sale!! We are continually sharing tidbits back and forth. There’s always something new on our wish lists so we like to each keep an eye out if something gets marked down. 2. Makeup tips – Linds and I are all about learning new things when it comes to applying makeup. Our latest tip is using a layer of translucent powder with a damp sponge before applying any shimmer or highlighter. Gently press the powder into the cheeks, nose and forehead. This helps fill in any skin unevenness so the highlighter doesn’t magnify any pore imperfections. We promise it will make your skin look AMAZING!

3. Gift ideas – It seems like we are always running behind on buying gifts for baby showers, birthday parties, graduations, etc. Anytime we find great gits under $25 that ship for free means it is time to stock up. These initial cups are fabulous and sure to bring a smile to any recipient. We also think these stationary sets are perfect for Mother’s Day. These bowls are just $12 too and would make the perfect gift for newlyweds or your BFF moving into their first apartment.
4. Fitness – Linds and I love to dance, run, practice yoga and go to barre classes at our local gym. We started ballet at the age of 4 and it has always been a pastime we both love SO much. Saturday mornings are all about our 10am yoga class. While more often than not we get lazy and feel like we should be cleaning our houses, it always feels good after we actually make it to class. Maybe if we had these adorable leggings and bow jacket it would motivate us to get to the gym even more! 😉
5. Mom advice – We are by no means experts on mothering, but sometimes we just have to step back and embrace the imperfectness each of our lives contain as busy moms. The slogan “Eat Cake for Breakfast” totally applies here! Sometimes it is nice to shake up the routine and think outside the box – to actually close the calendar and do a family outing on a whim even when the laptop is calling. It’s these moments of change that can often create the best memories! As best friends and blogging besties, Linds and I often have to remind ourselves of this. So if you want to eat cake for breakfast and use 3x too much dry shampoo tomorrow morning, you definitely have our vote!
