We are so excited to partner with Nordstrom today to share our must have item for early fall – KIMONOS! The temps are still so warm here right now and will be through all of September. But that doesn’t mean we can’t still layer! This is where kimonos come in to save the day. Not only can they be dressed up or down, but they look great on everyone! Whether you like small florals or bold prints, we’ve rounded up all of our favorite kimono options currently available at Nordstrom.

Now that it’s back to school time, Lindsay and I have super busy schedules between blogging, teaching, taking care of our families, etc. We are all about finding wardrobe items that help us stay comfortable yet chic during the busyness of the days {and evenings}. So for today’s sister style post we’d thought it would be fun to share outfits we’d be wearing to tackle a typical day! It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3!

Three Steps to the Perfect Kimono Look For Fall

1. Pick your perfect kimono.

There are so many great kimono options that are currently available at Nordstrom! Many of them come in one size fits all so then there is no guess work on what size to order. If you are in between sizes then we’d suggest going down for the styles that do come in multiple options. From sheer to opaque, short to long – kimonos are the easiest way to feel chic without skimping on comfort. The breezy fabrics mean you won’t sweat in them and they don’t wrinkle either. This is definitely a win win in our book.

2. Grab a pair of jeans.

Are you looking for a great pair of skinny jeans that are under $100? Then you’ve come to the right place! We’ve searched through all the new arrivals to show you all the best pairs that are not only on trend but very affordable too. To shop each pair just click the image above. You can also see all jeans under $100 here.

3. Select a pair of booties, sandals, wedges or flats!

You all already know we are all about peep toe booties! It’s a great way to look like “fall” but not get too hot. Whether you like cut outs, peep toes or perforated styles – you definitely have to check out all the great options at Nordstrom here. The nice part is many of these options can be worn in fall, winter and even in the spring.

fall-style-at-nordstrom-kimonos-denim-booties-kendra-scottIt’s really that simple for looking put together in no time at all. Now for more details on our individual looks where we put this formula to use! 🙂

Floral Kimono (one size fits all) // Denim (TTS) // Booties (TTS) // Rebecca Minkoff Bag // Earrings – Kendra Scott // Necklace – Kendra Scott

Lindsay is wearing the Nordstrom Floral Kimono in the color “mustard combo”. Don’t you just love the floral print paired with the fall tones? The side slits and contrast piping gives it an extra special touch as well. To put our formula into place, Lindsay paired her kimono with a neutral cami, distressed skinny jeans and booties.

These suede Kentvi booties are from Vince Camuto and come in three colors. They are so comfortable and run true to size. We love how the heel height is perfect for making your legs a bit longer looking but not too tall as to make you not want to wear them all day. This color is called “french taupe” and literally goes with everything! You will definitely love them.

Last but not least, every look needs a little polish from some accessories! We are all about the Love cross body style bags from Rebecca Minkoff. We’ve linked several great options below. They are perfect to wear across the body or on your shoulder. The strap is easily adjustable as well!

Lindsay is also wearing one of our favorite Kendra Scott sets. It goes with practically anything! The Elle style earrings are lightweight and the filigree Rae pendant necklace is so eye catching. Both come in silver, gold and rose gold options.

Whitney’s Kimono Look

Floral Kimono (one size fits all) // Denim // Booties (TTS) // Bag – Rebecca Minkoff // Necklace – Kendra Scott // Earrings – Kendra Scott

I loved this Nordstrom Floral Kimono so much that I had to order it in the green option called “olive combo”. It is such a pretty combination of burgundy, pink, white, black and olive green. It makes me feel like fall even though it will be a month or two until the leaves start changing colors here in OKC. I think it would be so cute with sandals as well as heels for a date night look. It really has so many ways that it can be worn. That’s definitely the beauty of a kimono!

I paired my kimono with skinny dark wash jeans, a neutral cami and my go to suede booties. They are the same style as Lindsay has on because we both loved the fit and comfort so much that we each had to buy them! I’m definitely ordering them in gray next. The chunky heel and soft suede will make you a fan from the first time you try them on.

For accessories I had to wear these new maroon acrylic earrings from Kendra Scott. They are called the Lotus earring and come in four color options. They are so lightweight that you won’t even feel them on! I’m also wearing the classic Phara tassel lariat necklace. It can be worn several different ways and comes in gold, silver and rose gold too.

Did you know that always offers free shipping and returns? They have the best customer service and return policy. It definitely keeps us coming back! I had stopped wearing kimonos a few years ago because I didn’t think they were as versatile – but now I’m starting to rethink them! They’re really cute for transitioning into fall when it’s too hot for full-on cardigans, but cool enough for layering. I just bought a plaid one recently, and now I’m definitely considering these floral cuties!
