New York Fashion Week. Four simple words that contain hundreds of thousands of hours of work. From designers and media to models and stylists, this week in September is one of the most highly anticipated in the entire year. While I can’t speak from experience in one of these industries, I am able to speak from a style blogger’s perspective. The four days that Lindsay and I spent in NYC last week were incredible!
Show room visits, fashion shows and after parties ensure your feet are exhausted – but that you end each day with a huge smile. Hotels, car services, food on the run and the perfect NYFW wardrobe can cost a small fortune. However, we were determined to take on the week while not breaking our budget! The simple solution: Who What Wear for Target!
If you’re new to this collection that debuted at Target last spring, you need to get to your local store or shop online ASAP. From whimsical floral prints to modern midi dresses that layer to perfection, this exclusive collection designed by the creators of Who What Wear.com gets five stars all around.
For our second day at fashion week my sister and I selected comfy yet oh so chic pajama shirt dresses from the newly debuted fall collection. The convertible sleeves make the dress perfect for transitional temps. Throw a jacket over your shoulders and grab your favorite statement bag for a look that’s perfect for a full day of adventure without making you find a second job.
That morning we ran from brunch to the Noon by Noor fashion show at Skylight Clarkson Square, followed by the Supima Design Competition (see one of our favorite designs that we posted to twitter here), then to the gorgeous BaubleBar showroom. We had a quick lunch followed by an afternoon photoshoot, the Design Palette Resort S/S 17 runway show, and wrapped up the day with some much needed dinner and the Kimora Lee Simmons Event at Bloomingdale’s. These were the perfect dresses for a busy day in the city!
The best part of this collection is it is available in a wide range of sizes starting at 2 to 22. Nothing is over $50 either! From school girl style striped sweaters to floral high low maxi dresses, this affordable capsule collection has something for every girl. There’s no need to sacrifice style while on a budget – even at New York Fashion Week!
Don’t forget to shop from the current collection online and in store before things sell out! The fun yet classic styles are sure to add some extra pep to your wardrobe without making your give up your daily Starbucks habit.
