I’m excited to finally show this maxi dress look on the blog. W and I each got these dresses a month or so ago and were waiting for just the right accessories to come along to pair with it. At first, diagonal stripes on a maxi dress seemed like a little much for a simple, summer dress. On the Loft site, the dress was very short on the model. It almost showed her ankles and all of her white shoes. Needless to say, the look they provided didn’t sell it to me. However, when I tried it on in store it was actually long on me (go figure!). So W and I decided to buy them during a special store promo. As far as jazzing up the look with accessories, I decided to experiment with this rather long, gold tassel necklace that W got for me for hosting her baby shower. I love the way everything came together to give this dress a column-like feel. The gold braided belt helps break up the length of the stripes, and necklace compliments the look without over powering the dress.
